Limiting Beliefs

I bet you, yes!

Most of us are much more capable than what we believe we are. Capable doesn’t mean you will do it. After we set a goal, we have to follow up with consistent and relentless action.

The belief of “No”, also known as “I can’t,” is one of the most common ones I hear. It is rooted into our heads from years of neglecting action towards the goals we set. That feeling of failure makes us believe we can’t do it. But other humans, just like you, have proven that it is doable again and again. Those feelings are called limiting beliefs. A belief that limits your possibilities before you even try. We elaborate the most complex excuses to convince oursleves that we are right and even sabotage ourselves comparing us to others.

Telling ourselves: “I can’t start a business because I don’t have any money, I can’t get a job because I have been rejected before, I can’t go to college because I don’t know how to study, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t”

When our daughter decided to go to college out of town, one person told me: “You guys can do it because you you have money, I will have to go to community college”

Truth is, this was an excuse. Going to community college is not a bad idea if it is your decision but the person didn’t know if we had money, if we worked extra hours or if we would have to bury ourselves in student loans or get a job while going to school. This man was just imagining and trying to justify his decision.

I have plenty of personal experiences to assure you that with proper dedication you can do whatever you set your mind to. I wanted to be an electronics engineer and with 10 years of study and dedication I did it. We wanted to live in the United States and with years of persistent and legal means I got a job and here we are. I wanted to be a Real Estate Broker and after training, 2 years as a sales associate, more training, hundreds of dollars in fees, I did it.

My point is: At the beginning of all those journeys the path looked rough and almost impossible. Just focus on the steps, remove those limiting thoughts from your mind and you will succeed.
